The Girl at Dusk
At the dawn of the dusk; a parallel light
In my half-formed thoughts a girl so bright
Here moments fall like leaves from a tree
In the autumn of a world yet to be;
A pause in the mind; a breeze suddenly caught
Steps aglow 'midst journey halfway wrought
Stitch sown in stillness, a gap in conversation
A flash of heat banishing all hesitation
My lady and I walk the westward path
As heaven descends and turns to dark
A long way from home; a-ways yet to go
Beneath the moon and stars we'll roam
Our steps in silence, volumes of words pass between us;
Verses of futures dawning for this pair of dreamers.
