Yeye - My father's father
In the heart beyond the conscious
We conversed at table for two
He talked and laughed and said goodbyes
In days before he was born anew
I listened; he spoke, with eyes alight
He shed not a tear nor said farewell
Instead he talked of friends and love
Of family; and on joys he dwelled
He loved us all, filial forest true
Farewelled his sister; recalling her young;
His brothers many he longed to grasp
'Neath mountains shrouded by ages come
To sons be bore dear, he sends his love
His held held high in proud salute
His duty done, his freedom come
His body's seed returns to root
In yellow light so bright; so pure
I watched him wave from lotus throne
The king of horses quickened to gallop
For fields of new lifetimes on which to roam
My father's father is on his next adventure
Leaving the majesty of his life's endeavours
